Tower Technicians,, Charlotte, NC

Betacom is seeking highly motivated Tower Technician III with progressive experience in wireless telecom site construction. Tower Technicians will assist in the construction, installation, and maintenance of communications towers and support structures and related telecommunications equipment.

• Climbs and works on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment.; performs tower maintenance under close supervision.
• Ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with a 50-pound load.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment.
• Knowledge of basic tower rigging techniques.
• Proficient with installation of antennas, RRH’s, ground kits, RET systems.
• Assist with testing procedures (sweeps, PIM, fiber testing, etc.)

Betacom is looking for the following qualifications in a candidate:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Good communication and computer skills
• Required progressive experience in wireless telecom cellular tower construction
• OSHA 10, RF Awareness Training, First Aid/CPR training  and certifications required
• Current ComTrain or equivalent certification in Tower Climbing Safety and Rescue Certification required
• Must be willing to travel
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license required
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment
